Sometimes I think date nights are for people who need to get away from their kids, and with no little ones around, we often forget about date night. We spend all our spare time together anyway. Problem is, it's at home, in front of the tv, or computer and not really giving each other much attention. We decided we needed to fix that so last week we finally got to go on a date. My husband is awesome.

First we grabbed some food, and then Jonathan took me to Mackenzie park. I'd never been there, but it's the best park I've ever seen in Lubbock, and honestly, probably the prettiest part of Lubbock. Jonathan had packed some of our old bread and we fed the ducks on the lake there.
Then the geese came, and we didn't like them, they were pretty mean to the other ducks. Then we ran out of bread and they were pretty mean to us. One of them bit Jonathan's foot. Geese can be rude.
They started coming after us and we ran away. Turns out, I'm scared of geese.
We spent the rest of the night wandering around the park, "horsing" around on some sculptures and attempting to carve our names into a tree (much harder than it looks).
Basically we just spent time out of the house enjoying each others company. It was fun.
Oh, and that morning Sarah came to visit. How fun.

Love the 'horsing' around! And dates are definately not just for people with kids. And when you have kids, dates are not just for getting away. Sometimes our kids come on our dates. Oh...and I've never met a nice goose. They're horrible little creatures. I'm not sure why more people don't have Branta specific Ornithophobia, it's way cooler than arachnaphobia.
