We had a great Thanksgiving! I was most thankful for a break from school (you wouldn't believe how excited I am for Christmas break to be here!) Seriously though, we have a whole lot to be thankful for in our lives!
We went to Tyson and Marcie Meredith's house, the Grovers and the Iversons were there too! We had an excellent time. So much delicious food!
Then, that night, we headed out for Black Friday shopping! Have I told you how much I love Black Friday shopping? As a teenager I would go with my friends, and I loved it then. And as an adult I've convinced my husband to go too! Usually we have something of value we're looking to purchase (a tv one year, a laptop another year) but this year we didn't really have anything so we joined Marcie and Tyson on their quest for an itouch. The line was so long at Toys R Us on Thanksgiving evening (they opened at 9pm) that the Meredith's gave up, and we all headed home.
I hadn't got the itch out of me yet though so I woke Jonathan up at 5 to go wait outside of Ashley Furniture to try and get 1 of 2 $1300 mattresses that were on sale for $200! We waited for 2 hours in the cold in line with people who had been there all night with tents and sleeping bags and everything. Unfortunately, by the time we got to the door they were out, next year we're bringing our tent! So, we headed to the mall where Jonathan bought me an awesome Christmas present!
We went home and Jonathan got ready for work, I dropped him off and went shopping on my own! The mall, Kohls, Walmart, and Kmart. Surprisingly, Kmart was the only crazy place. I had so much trouble finding an employee to help me that I googled the phone number for the store on my phone, from inside the store, and called and got someone to help me. Ridiculous. But I came home from all my shopping with lots of exciting things (mostly groceries and Christmas decorations, but shhh, I like to pretend I bought all the cool stuff that was on sale!)
Then.. I turned on "R&B Christmas Music" on pandora and cleaned then decorated for Christmas. Here's a peak:
I LOVE Christmas decorations! It just makes the house seem so much more exciting. Jonathan loved it when he came home. We are officially ready for Santa!
